Showcase season is almost upon us, and schedules are starting to be announced.

We’ve already written about the Carmody Classic and the Moneyball in Lansing. The Horatio Williams Foundation’s Tip-off Classic is the latest to release its full schedule and it might be the strongest showcase yet.

HW Tip-off Classic Schedule:

Day 1: Friday, December 1
Detroit Catholic Central vs. Harper Woods
Romulus Summit vs. Detroit Renaissance
Warren Lincoln vs. Old Redford
Day 2: Saturday, December 2
Detroit Edison vs. Oak Park
River Rouge vs. East Kentwood
Davison vs. Ferndale
Brother Rice vs. University Prep
North Farmington vs. Detroit King
East Lansing vs. West Bloomfield

HW Tip-off Classic top 20 players:

Elijah Williams 6-6 So. Brother Rice – Williams, son of new Pistons head coach Monty Williams, is a five-star recruit nationally and already has offers from high-major D1 schools.

Greg Lawson 6-2 Jr. Davison – Lawson is one of the rare high-major recruits I have not yet seen in person. I’m very excited to see him in action as a power-5 talent.

Chas Lewless 6-3 Sr. Detroit King – Elite scorer who has really cut down his high turnover rate from when he was at Detroit CC. Can score at all three levels and can take over a game against anyone. Signed with San Diego.

Lance Stone 5-7 Jr. Detroit Renaissance – Quick, aggressive and a terrific outside shooter, Stone has everything except height. He has recently taken visits to MSU and UM.

Jordan Sigmon 6-2 So. Detroit Renaissance – Michigan’s 2026 class is among the best in state history and Sigmon has the talent to make a Darius Acuff-like rise.

Markus Blackwell 6-2 Jr. Warren Lincoln – Blackwell is a crafty scorer who is smooth running the show or playing off the ball. He has D1 offers and could sneak into a power-5 conference.

Cameron Hutson 6-6 Jr. East Lansing – Hutson, son of former Michigan State forward Andre Hutson, is an elite shooter with a silky game getting to the basket. He looks like a prime time hooper.

Warren Marshall 6-4 Sr. Brother Rice – Marshall has had bursts of production and even dominance for the Warriors, but this will be his first season as the go-to scorer. Signed with Oakland University.

Xander Wedlow 6-9 Sr. University Prep – Dominant post presence who can also step outside and hit mid-range jumpers. One of the best rebounders in the state.

Jaquon Stennis 6-8 So. Old Redford – Stennis burst on to the scene picking up a football offer from Michigan before he even played a down. Now 6-8 and potentially still growing, basketball seems to be his future. Has an offer from Penn State.

Tyler Spratt 6-5 Sr. North Farmington – Spratt’s defensive game has always been a little ahead of his offense, but he’s a tremendous shooter who will have to carry more of the scoring load this season. Committed to Cleveland State.

Moses Blackwell 5-8 Jr. Warren Lincoln – Another speedy roadrunner-type player who can beat teams with quickness or shooting. Has a D1 offer from Detroit Mercy.

Christian Humphrey-Rembert 6-9 Sr. East Kentwood – Pretty much a tall shooting guard, as he spends most of his time on the perimeter. Premier athlete who is a threat to dunk any time the team is in transition.

Geon Hutchins 6-4 Jr. Oak Park – Hutchins picked up a D1 offer this summer. He’s still a bit raw offensively, but he eventually has the length and skill to play point guard.

Landon Williams 6-4 Sr. North Farmington – Williams has a bit of an unorthodox shot, but he’s an efficient shooter and tremendous passer, which will allow him to play point guard at the next level. Signed with Niagra.

T.J. Nadeau 6-5 Sr. Detroit Catholic Central – Has been one of Michigan’s best shooters since his sophomore year. Has the height and skill to be a key factor in D1 or DII college ball.

Jah Hatchett 5-11 Jr. East Kentwood – Gritty point guard who plays with passion and a chip on his shoulder. Probably the most underrated player in the state.

Uchenna Amene 6-2 Sr. Detroit Catholic Central – Can score in bunches and create for others. Very quick on defense and still has overall upside.

Eden Vinyard 6-8 Fr. Ferndale – Could end up a high-major recruit. Great size and build, especially as a freshman. Should help Ferndale avoid a rebuilding phase coming off a D2 state title.

Dontez Scott 6-0 Sr. Romulus Summit – Disappointed in the state semifinals, but he has all the tools to lead his team right back to the Breslin this season. Committed to Saginaw Valley State.
