Top 20 players to watch:
Trey McKenney, 6-4, Orchard Lake St. Mary’s – A five-star recruit nationally with the pick of the D1 college litter. A versatile scorer who can also run the offense.
Elijah Williams, 6-6, Brother Rice – Potentially the best all-around player in the state with a sweet shooting stroke. Son of Pistons head coach Monty Williams.
Deunte Phifer, 6-5, Lansing Waverly – Deep range from well beyond the arc. Smooth athletically and can play above the rim. Has D1 college offers.
Chas Lewless, 6-2, Detroit King – Lead guard with a nice outside shot. Excels in transition and with the game on the line. Signed with D1 San Diego University.
Warren Marshall, 6-5, Brother Rice – Can take over the game with a lethal mid-range game. Kind of a throw-back player in that way. Signed with Oakland University.
Macari Moore, 6-3, Ann Arbor Huron – An underrated recruit nationally who uses his strength and savvy to get to the basket with ease. Multiple D1 offers.
Landon Williams, 6-4, North Farmington – Will take on more of the scoring role this year but will likely play point guard in college. Signed with D1 Niagra University.
Tyler Spratt, 6-5, North Farmington – Great shooter, and he might be the best on-the-ball defender in the state. Signed with Cleveland State.
Karter Richards, 6-2, Grosse Pointe South – Terrific shooter and surprising speed. Smooth athlete who looks poised for a big season. Signed with Lake Superior State.
Keshawn Fisher, 6-6, River Rouge – Has some Draymond Green to his game with his size and versatility. Could be a major breakout candidate.
Braylon Mannon, 6-8, Belleville – Still a little raw, but has great upside on both ends of the floor. Solid finisher with the ability to step out and shoot.
Phoenix Glassnor, 6-0, Warren De La Salle – Three-sport star who might get D1 offers in all three. Rare athlete who also has incredible leadership skills.
Parker LePla, 6-8, Goodrich – Post player who sometimes flashes guard skills. Offensive game is well rounded, and he has few weaknesses.
Sharrod Barnes, 6-2, Orchard Lake St. Mary’s – The Eaglets have upwards of eight players who will play D1 someday. Barnes is a big point guard who has proven he can take over games.
Xander Wedlow, 6-9, University Prep – Perhaps the best shot blocker in the state. Rare ability to dominate without fouling. Can hit outside shots, but needs to get more aggressive and refined, offensively.
Jace Petree, 6-3, Detroit Edison – Elite shooter and smooth athlete who glides around the court. Looks like the best player in the gym and often is.
Mason Parker, 6-1, Troy – Sharpshooter who can also run an offense. Has the skill to play D1-D2 college ball. Might need to get a little bit stronger, though.
Dominic Krzesowiak, 6-5, Romulus Summit – One of the state’s most fun players to watch also just picked up a D1 offer from Alcorn State.
Dontez Scott, 6-1, Romulus Summit – Crafty lead guard who can score in bunches. Strong and agile on both ends of the floor. Signed with Saginaw Valley State.
T.J. Stevenson, 6-1, Saginaw – Will go down in history as Saginaw’s last point guard, ending a run of supremely talented Trojan guards. Emerging as a go-to scorer.
